Byron Glacier Adventure Engagements in Alaska

I traveled to Alaska for the Wild & Unwritten workshop hosted by Peyton Byford and Kylie Morgan. Both of them are amazingly talented photographers, and I was so excited to learn from them. I had been wanting to invest in a workshop and work on my photography, and when I saw that they were holding it in Alaska, a place I’ve always wanted to travel, I jumped at the opportunity. 

I applied and was able to get a spot. Then COVID hit. And there was suddenly a lot of uncertainty around whether or not the workshop would happen. Alaska put in certain travel restrictions that required you to get a negative COVID test before you could enter the state. And thankfully all attendees, models, and vendors were able to travel safely - and the workshop happened!

I knew I was excited to go to Alaska - but I didn’t realize just how life-changing it would be. The scenery was unreal - literally, it felt like we were in another world. This was one of the many amazing shoots that Kylie and Peyton organized. 

Maka and Aorere are the most beautiful couple. Maka is from Alaska and very familiar with the area, so we hiked out to Byron Glacier and had the most fun, playful and adventurous shoot I’ve ever photographed! 

They were game for all of our crazy poses and you can feel the joy that they radiate in all of these photos. They feel so light and carefree. I cannot wait to go back to Alaska for more of that feeling!

Mark & Jenna are two friends who have been running their wedding photography and videography business together for the past four years. We are based in Dallas, Texas - but serve our couples worldwide as well as locally. Mark is the videographer here, and focuses his art on storytelling and creativity. Jenna is the photographer, bringing your wedding to life with true-to-color edits and documentary-style storytelling.

We have been friends since 2013, and there is nothing more important to us than our community. We have built our business around the idea that fostering good relationships is the most important thing in life, and weddings are a beautiful way to celebrate those relationships.
