Our 2023 on 35mm Film
I’ve slowly been dipping my toe in to the world of film photography. There are SO many amazing wedding photographers that incorporate film into their business - and while that’s definitely a goal of mine one day, I’ve been trying to learn and shoot as much film in my personal life as I can! It is so much fun, and it’s nice to just get to casually shoot on film with no pressure. I'm not as consistent with it as I would like to be (one of my goals for 2024) but there were a handful of times in 2023 that I brought my film cameras along and I wanted to share them with you! All these photos make me smile, and the excitement I feel every time I get film developed just makes me love them even more!
Our Couples
I bring my cameras sometimes to weddings and shoots, just for fun - and it’s always so sweet to see these photos of our couples once they get developed!
NYC Trip
In February we had a wedding in New York, and we took a little trip to NYC for two days before the wedding! Mark had never been, and we got to bring along our amazing second shooter Kate - we had the BEST time exploring and I brought a few rolls of film and made it a goal to use them all - so these are some of my favorites from that weekend!
Ireland and Italy
Last year when we went to Iceland, I brought a bunch of film with me and made it my goal to use every roll. It was SO fun when I got that film developed, and I look back on those pictures and smile every time. This year, we had a 9 day trip to Italy and Ireland (checkout the digital photos from Ireland here) and I wanted to do the same thing. But I will say, I did not take as many as I planned, and while I love these photos - I wished I had taken more!
Favorite Moments
And finally, just some random moments of 2023 that make me smile! Keelie (the sister of Mark’s wife Kinslie, and also one of my best friends) got married and it was the best day! I snapped a few film photos during the wedding and I love them. The rest are just a random assortment of my favorite photos from the year!
