Fredericksburg Wedding - Contigo Ranch
Jordan & Gage met when they were young teenagers and have been together ever since. In the letter Jordan wrote to Gage on the day of their wedding, she said that at age 15 she knew she would marry him. This day was a long time coming, and what a celebration it was!
Contigo Ranch is a wedding venue down in Fredricksburg, Texas. You hear it described as ‘hill country’ and that is an apt description! Texas is a pretty flat state, so it was fun to add some unique geography in the area - and the venue really embodied the southern Texas vibe. The ranch is on a huge plot of land, and the venue has tons of lodging on the grounds, as well as the reception hall, and the ceremony spot. Jordan, Gage and their families all stayed the night at the venue - and so when we got there in the morning, we were able to join them as they rose for the day - eating breakfast, listening to music, and spending time with their families.
We met Jordan in college - and it is always a blast to capture the weddings of our friends! Everyone was incredibly welcoming and made us feel like family. Jordan’s bridesmaids put together a book of letters to Jordan - all from her loved ones, and it was such an emotional way to start the morning - it really set the tone for the day. Every moment was intentional and loving, and full of anticipation leading up the ceremony.
The ceremony was at the top of a hill on the property, overlooking the rest of the venue. It was so beautiful - summer was in full swing, and everyone’s dresses & suits looked SO dang good against the green grass and blue skies. Gage had probably our favorite reaction of all time when he saw Jordan walking down the aisle towards him - and I think we all cried right along with him. We all knew how special this moment was, and how long they had been looking forward to finally getting married.
The reception followed afterwards, and it was a wonderful extension of the ceremony. Gage’s brother cried as he gave his toast, telling us that although Gage was his younger brother - he had always looked up to him. And then we all went outside to watch their first dance together as husband and wife. After that - we danced the night away! We always love getting out on the dance floor with our couples, and this was no different - the DJ was incredible and we sang along with Jordan, head-banged with the guests to metal music, and cheered along with their guests as the exited.
We would relive this day 100x times over again - and I know they would as well! When we delivered the final photo gallery and video, Jordan told us she was sad - because it meant we wouldn’t have a reason to talk as often. But we told her not to fear, she can’t get rid of us that easily!
